CBU Engineering is a family-built business shaped by practical experience, personal sacrifice and a determination to provide clients with dependable solutions.
The qualities that define CBU Engineering were developed long before the company formally opened its doors.
De Wet grew up in Alexander Bay and lived in Sendelingsdrif during his school years, travelling by bus each day. Those early years developed his independence and a lasting connection with the outdoors, motorcycles and four-wheel-drive exploration.
His early career required extended periods away from home, often under modest living conditions and with limited time with his family. The experience developed the resilience, discipline and work ethic that continue to guide his approach today.
A later opportunity brought him to Springbok, where he spent approximately four years expanding his technical knowledge and industry experience. Many of the professional relationships established during that time remain valued today.
De Wet is known for his patience, integrity and willingness to assist others. His ability to assess difficult situations and develop practical solutions has earned him the trust of a loyal and returning client base.

Motorcycle repairs, engine rebuilds, steel gates and security bars manufactured from the family garage.
2018
CBU established
De Wet formally established the business after choosing to pursue his own engineering venture.
2019
Operations commenced
CBU Engineering began operating with a focus on quality, reliability and practical expertise.
2020
Yvonne joined CBU
Yvonne joined the business shortly before the COVID-19 lockdowns, helping guide its continued growth.

Gamsberg milestone
The company secured its first major Gamsberg project, marking a defining stage in its development.
